Enrichment Opportunities

Enrichment is considered anything a student does that falls outside of the curriculum of HS. Many EVHS students participate in summer courses, volunteering in the community, internships and summer programs offered through local colleges.

Volunteering
Using community/family connections and web resources is probably the best way to find a place to volunteer. There are no grad requirements, but students find it fulfilling to give back to their communities. Click the links below to explore volunteer opportunities:

College Classes:
EV students also ask to take classes at the community college over the summer.  Sometimes they wish to advance in Math and sometimes they just want to learn a new subject.  The college places some restrictions on the classes a high school student can take. Generally, we do not allow students to take classes offered by EVHS during the school year. During the summer students have more flexibility. The colleges also place restrictions on the number of units a student can take.

We only place courses on our transcript if it is needed for graduation.  In these cases, the official transcript (sealed and unopened) is ordered at EVC and brought or mailed to the counselor for inclusion in the transcript.

Please speak to your Counselor when deciding on a course. It is important to note that students are required to report all grades earned, including college grades, when applying to 4 year colleges/universities.

Most community colleges utilize electronic forms that will require a Counselor's signature and a copy of your Graduation Inventory for placement purposes. Please input your counselor's email and the form will be emailed directly through the college to your counselor. If not, please email the completed form to your Counselor.
